Raised in Malibu, Dane Skophammer grew up fishing at Broad Beach, surfing Little Dume, and hiking in the beautiful hills surrounding his home. After years in prestigious restaurants as a chef (most notably as Executive Chef of iconic Malibu Farm), Skophammer discovered a profound passion for creating kitchen knives. Bladesmithing allowed him to combine his culinary knowledge and artisan skills. His original work reflects the nature and history of his beloved home, using wood and metal with rich stories. From wood used in Malibu vineyard wine barrels to precious metal scraps salvaged from the historic Malibu wildfire, Dane’s one-of-a-kind pieces are works of art.
